In Canada we are smart and sneaky. We price an overall package at a good deal enticing someone to buy the package in full, not in parts. This helps promote everyone involved in the process of making that package, and also keeps a constant price (if it is a predictable one) for future items with that deal. Also, it doesn't rip off the customer to buy the entire thing.
Here's how it works. SPG prices all Milk Inc singles at $3.99 if they have more than 4 versions. 4 individual versions are $3.96. Often enough, people buy just one version: Radio Edit. But there are times that people buy a different version because maybe that's what they hear on the radio instead of the original radio edit. What often happens in Canada is that people buy 2-3 versions maximum... 17 gives them a variety. But 17 for $3.99 also entices them to buy the entire package therefore they get exposure to every remix on the release besides the band's original work.
I think $3.99 for 17 mixes is a bit low, because that means less money for Regi, Filip & Linda considering there's no "discount" for buying every mix on Blackout or Storm in Belgium on iTunes, but you get the idea. That's the downfall, but the positive is that it's low price could entice more people to buy the release in Canada and increase sales since they've had no real radio/TV exposure here outside of DJFM since "Whisper"

wars, I guess that means you now have lots of mixes to play!
