Language

I know most of you don't speak Dutch, but we received a question about the website language.

At the moment, the website can be visited in English. The question we received is about the fact Milk Inc. is a Belgian Dance Act and their main language is actually Dutch. Some readers probably want the website to be in Dutch too, or even French, Spanish, ...

Since English is an universal language, we thought it would be better to have the website in 1 language. Since we already tried to keep the website in Dutch and even French, we know there aren't a lot of visitors who visit the website in that language. With 1000 visitors a day, only 50 to 100 visited the site in another language than English. So that's why we removed the Dutch and French version...

Now our question is: Should the Dutch version be brought back, just because Milk Inc. is a Belgian, Flemish group? When you visit other sites of Belgian Dance Acts, those website are also in English. Do any of you have problems with this fact?

We would like to know your opinions.

Thanks,
Civa

No. Almost everybody understands english and - as you say - only a small number of people visit the site in an other language. Milk Inc. has fans all over the world, so only adding a Dutch version for Belgium and The Netherlands isn't nessecary IMO...

For me an English version is enough. I think most people from Belgium understand english very well. So I don't really see a reason to have a Dutch version too, unless a lot of 'little children' visit the website too, which I doubt.

And indeed, for example the site of Sylver is only in Enlgish and I don't think a lot of people mind that. (The site of Lasgo is rahter strange: there's frech, english and dutch text on the homepage. ???)

So my advice: try it in 'english only' and if the number of visits doesn't decrease because of it, just keep the site that way. :)

My advice about language of the website...

I'm a webdeveloper, and I think that a French version could be very interessant because Milk Inc hasn't enough popularity in "Wallonie" and in "France", compared to "Flanders". So, if french people would come to visit the website, and if these people don't speak english, they will leave it.

Moreover, translate the informations is not so difficult, because infos don't changed... only the tourlist and the disco have some changes... and sometimes news come to fill the website in...

That's only my advice.

So, I think the design is so beautiful.

It is very well known that French people speak so bad English... :D (I'm French ;))
But for me one language is enough, online translators exist if people wanna understand what it is said ;)
And there are already special sections on this forum for example for French fans, it's enough I think !
